A gratuitous tumblog dedicated to the awfully witty, intelligent, and troll-like things that come out of Jesse Eisenberg's beautiful mouth.

Q: Camille — [this is your] New York debut. Tell me what the whole experience has been like and how you were cast in the show. (x)

Jesse Eisenberg, Camille Mana and Justin Bartha on The Artsy Farty Show (nov. 22)

"[On Justin and Jesse] I’m sitting in between fear and worry! I think it really is about trusting that if you aren’t one of those people who’s not doing enough to compete with the rest of the artists—there are some really high highs and some really low lows when you pick a career as unstable as we have. And you know, that’s what you signed up for but keep doing it. I mean, a year ago—I’ve been playing very young for a very long time and this is the first time—when I got the offer to do this role, I literally thought something was wrong with Jesse and I didn’t know him at all; I’ve never worked with anyone involved in this project but it was just a straight offer to play this role, which I could not understand because I’ve never had anything on my tape that indicated that I would be the appropriate choice for this character! But yeah, I’ve never played an immigrant, I’ve never played an adult, I’ve never had a ring on my finger and I’m excited that that’s happening in this play ‘cause I think this is sort of a new chapter for me after this. I have a feeling that I’m finally going to get to play some post-collegiate adult and people with twos in front of their ages instead of ones. But um, I guess for me it was doubting that that next chapter would start any time soon, ‘cause I’m Asian, and those roles really just don’t come."
